A chance to say thanks... and to learn from the best

Your parents are a great source of career advice and have provided you with countless words of wisdom throughout the years. How often do you take a moment to say thanks for their advice and encouragement?

What is Bring In Your Parents Day?

On November 4, 2016 we want to give parents a glimpse into what you really do at work and an opportunity for you to say thank you in return.

Share Bring In Your Parents Day with your managers and encourage your company to invite parents into the workplace. Or get involved by joining the #BIYP conversation on social media.

Don’t miss out on the chance to get involved with the fourth annual Bring In Your Parents Day.

Why should I bring my parent in to work?

Your parents have been there for you throughout your education and career, providing support along the way. But do they really understand what it is you do at work?

Bringing your parents to work to talk about what you do will help them understand. You might be surprised at just how much they can relate and the helpful advice they'll have.

Regardless of whether your parents are coming in, you can still join in on Bring In Your Parents Day via video call or interacting on social media. We'd love to hear what your parents think you do. Let us know by tweeting or Instagramming using #BIYP, or posting on your LinkedIn page.

Your parents are incredibly proud; let them feel part of your achievements and say thank you for everything they have done to help you so far.

If you'd like to bring your parents to the office, sign up for Bring In Your Parents Day. We’ll be in touch with helpful tips on how to get your company involved (particularly how to lobby your boss!).

For parents, it's an opportunity to see your greatest work, at work

You may not know it, but you’ve probably had more of an impact on your child’s working life than you realize – not only by actively teaching them vital life skills but also by demonstrating how to approach different situations.

Bring In Your Parents Day is an opportunity to learn more about what your child does and see all the reasons you have to be proud whether you're attending the event in person or interacting via video call or on social media.

If you’d love to take part, give your kid(s) a nudge by phone, email or text and tell them to check out the site! They can sign up and you can put November 4th in your calendar as a day not to miss.

If you can't attend this year, don't worry, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. Plan a video chat or coffee break on Bring In Your Parents Day and share photos with #BIYP.

Why should my business get involved?

Employees who feel valued and happy are more productive and the support they receive from parents can play an important part in job satisfaction. That’s difficult when many parents don’t know enough about what their child does, or if they are giving the right advice.

You can change this by giving parents the chance to see their greatest work, at work. By bringing parents and employees together in the workplace it gives your staff a chance to say thank you for all of the help they’ve been given so far along the way.

We’ve created a Bring In Your Parents Day toolkit to help you execute the day with ease.

Bring In Your Parents Day is an opportunity to position yourself as a compassionate and forward thinking company who values its staff.

Sign up and we’ll be in touch with helpful tips and milestone dates leading up to November 4th. After that, download the resources we’ve created to help you pull off the day with ease, including suggested activities, promotional posters and sample agenda.

Join the other companies that have already signed up and help us make Bring In Your Parents a global celebration.
